Master 4 / Skipper 2
The course provides approved training to the competency requirements for a Master Class 4 or a Skipper Grade 2 Certificate, as specified by the NSCV and Maritime Safety Queensland.
Career opportunities
As prescribed by the NSCV Part D, a Master Class 4 certificate allows a person to be employed as master of a commercial vessel up to 35 metres in length, within 600 nautical miles from the coast and Skipper Grade 2 to be employed as Master of Fishing Vessel up to 35 metres in length for unlimited domestic operations.
Entry requirements
As determined by the appropriate Marine Authority. Medical and eye-sight requirements apply.
Course structure
The course consists of units of competency selected by marine authorities from the nationally accredited TDM07 Maritime Training Package.
